Words in Quality Engineering

Words in quality engineering (QE) are often used in different meaning from original meaning of each word. I do not intend to use such word in this site.

In Japanese page, I explained the difference to read Japanese books. But in English page, I do not explain most of them because I do not want to spread confusion.

• Allowable margin design : Estimate Loss Function
• Energy : (1) Square of Y. (2) Input and output.
• Error factor The cause of disorder witch is evaluate in experiments aggressively.
• Functionality : The other name of Dynamic Characteristics
• L18 : One of the Orthogonal Array . It is preffered in QE because the size of experiment is not too large and easy to use the power of QE.
• Loss Function : A quadratic function to evaluate the balance point.
• MT method : One of the methods of MT System.
• MT System : Total name of Multi-Variable Analysis which is made by QE.
• Orthogonal Array : Tools of Design of Experiments
• Selection of system : Select "Functionality" to use
• SN Ratio : One of the indexes to evaluate unevenness
• Standard SN Ratio : A index to evaluate the difference from standard condition
• T Method : One of the methods of MT System.
• Two Step Analysis : The way to optimize the stable quality. = Parameter Design
