MT Method

In MT method, M is from the name of Mahalanobis. And T is from the name of Genichi TAGUCHI.

Many methods of Pattern Recognition analyze "A or B?".

If A is "normality" and B is "abnormality", these methods are not good.

But the model of MT is good to analyze this case.

Difference between MT Method and Discriminant Analysis

Comparison from Discriminant Analysis is good to understand the reason why MT is good to analyze abnormality.

By Discriminant Analysis, we analyze "Which central point of two groups is closer?".

By MT we analyze "If the point is near the central point of normality group, this is normality. If not, this is abnormality group."
