Landscape Ecology

Landscape ecology studies the relationship between the space and the ecology. Both geography and ecology have common part with landscape ecology.

Generally in various other studies, homogeneous space is considered to study because we want to use statistics. But in landscape ecology, non-homogeneous is a target to study.

Landscape ecology makes mosaic (cells) in the space, and analyzes the difference among each cell. "Mosaic" is not only an important tool of landscape ecology but symbolic word.

Landscape ecology indicates that knowledge and action depends on the scale. It is said that many systems are made as closed systems in the scale.
