Data management is the management of organizational data.
In the manufacturing industry, quality management (QM) has been advocated since the 1980s, and TQM has been actively promoted. Data management and quality management are similar in that they comprehensively arrange the necessary contents and act as a whole organization.
At TQM, we seek to stabilize and improve the quality of what an organization provides to its customers from various perspectives. There is also a viewpoint for quality assurance.
In data management, we try to centrally manage the data in the organization with a system.
In my experience, some data is needed for data analysis to measure and collect to solve some problems, but not continuously. It seems that such data is not included in data management at least as of 2022.
